SpringML in Partnership with Google Cloud Launch Two New Tools to Help North Carolinians Find Their Spot to Take Their Shot

Pleasanton, California — March 22, 2021 – The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) has launched two new online tools to help people determine eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine and then locate the closest vaccine provider.

Developed by SpringML in partnership with Google Cloud, the Find My Vaccine Group site allows users to answer a series of questions related to their occupation, age and other risk factors in order to determine which vaccine group they are in. Following completion of the questionnaire, users can then submit contact information to be notified via email or text message when their group is eligible to receive the vaccine.

The Find a Vaccine Location site, also developed by SpringML in partnership with Google Cloud, was deployed this week to help users find participating vaccine provider locations across the state. It uses the Google Maps API and allows users to search by zip code, current location, or current map view and is updated regularly with the latest available provider information.

“Although supplies of the vaccines remain limited, this technology will help North Carolinians get answers to their questions,” said Sam Gibbs, Deputy Secretary for Technology and Operations for NCDHHS. “These tools will enable residents to find information such as when it is their turn to get their vaccine or where to find a vaccination location.”

With limited vaccine supplies currently available, these self-serve tools help determine immediate eligibility for prioritized populations.

“With so many questions around vaccine eligibility, this online tool gives users instant and personalized feedback on which vaccine group they are part of. We are honored to once again partner with NCDHHS on their COVID-19 response to deliver this solution in just 4 days.” says SpringML President Prabhu Palanisamy.
