Pleasanton, California – April 06, 2021 – The State of Massachusetts has launched a new online tool that enables residents to preregister for the COVID-19 vaccine. Developed by SpringML in partnership with Google Cloud, the Vaccine Sign Up Tool gives citizens the opportunity to preregister for an appointment at a mass vaccination site and allows the state to notify residents when they are eligible to make an appointment.
The response was immediate, with over 400,000 residents registered on the first day the tool went live and over 700,000 at the end of day five. Over 50,000 residents have already been notified of their eligibility and provided a link to make their appointment, including a day reserved exclusively for educators.
“Our partnership with Google Cloud and SpringML has been vital in successfully launching a preregistration site that offers an improved user experience and will ultimately lead to a more seamless process for individuals to receive their vaccination,” said Massachusetts Secretary of Technology Services and Security Curt Wood. “We will continue to seek out innovative solutions such as this that can enhance the services we provide to the people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.”
Registration takes only a few minutes and allows users to select their preferred communication and notification method – email, text or automated voice call. Once registered, status updates will be provided on a weekly basis.
