Using Google Healthcare API for Secure Patient Image Sharing

In this recorded webinar, SpringML’s VP of Data Science Manuel Amunategui and Rob Lewis, founder of Radical Imaging share how Google’s recently released Healthcare API will transform secure patient data sharing – in particular for healthcare images.

They highlight a specific Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) use case. DICOM is an international standard used for medical images such as X-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds, and other medical imaging modalities.

The Cloud Healthcare API provides operations for reading DICOM instances, studies, and series that are consistent with the DICOM web standard, and supports the DICOM DIMSE C-STORE operation using an open source adapter. See the DICOM documentation for more details on DICOM. We demo how leveraging the Google Cloud Healthcare API and ability to support DICOM data sharing can bring innovation with Machine Learning right to the patient without delay.

A demo includes:
  • Specific Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) use cases.
  • Showing how Google Cloud Healthcare API enables DICOM data sharing and DICOM documentation.
